Remploy and LOVE Care help local people kickstart their career in care

Since 2020, Remploy have been working in partnership with LOVE Care to support their recruitment across Lanarkshire. Over the last year, we have placed 10 Fair Start Scotland participants into work with them.

Based in Hamilton, LOVE Care provides residential and home care across Scotland and is part of the wider entity, LOVE Group – a business that delivers services in recruitment, training, education, and social care.

Sharon Doonan, Remploy Regional Account Manager, has been managing the relationship with LOVE Care and works closely with them to source the right Fair Start Scotland participants for their vacancies.

This relationship has a dual benefit for the community, as for any independent participants who have applied for their vacancies but may need extra support, LOVE Care can refer them directly to Remploy.

Speaking of the partnership, Kelly McAteer, HR & Recruitment Manager at LOVE Care, said: “We are a very diverse employer and welcome applications from all – irrelevant of their background and experience. We are also a Disability Confident employer who looks to break down any barriers and make the care sector more accessible for employment opportunities.

“Through this partnership – if we receive a direct application from someone who needs additional support, for example with interview skills, travel, or digital skills then we will refer them to Remploy with a guarantee that when they are ready, Remploy will refer back to us for a guaranteed interview.

“Our partnership allows us to provide a full-360 process for people looking to start work in the care industry. 2022 has been a great year for this partnership and we very much look forward to continuing to grow and celebrate our success in the next year.”

Remploy are excited to continue working together in 2023 – supporting the care industry and helping local people to kickstart their career.
