Remploy has secured a contract to deliver the Access to Work Workplace Mental Health Support Service.

The service, delivered by Remploy’s specialist advisors on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions, provides confidential, personalised mental health support to any employees with depression, anxiety, stress, or any other mental health conditions affecting their work.

To date, more than 12,000 individuals across England, Scotland and Wales have been supported through the service to remain in, or return to, work, with a 93% success rate after 6 months.

Gareth Parry, Remploy Chief Executive, said:

“We’re delighted that that we will be continuing our delivery of this important service. In the past year alone, uptake has increased by more than 60%, highlighting the growing demand for mental health support in the workplace.

We will continue to work with employers and partner organisations to raise awareness of the service, improve conversations about mental health, and support thousands more people to thrive at work”.

The Minister for Disabled People, Health and Work, Sarah Newton, said:

“I’m committed to ensuring that disabled people and those with health conditions get the support they need to get in and stay in work. With one in four people diagnosed with a mental health condition in their lifetime, it’s clear we need specific support targeted at this group of people.

“Access to Work provides tailored and flexible support for thousands and its good news that Remploy will continue to provide this invaluable service across the country, helping people to thrive at work and reach their full potential.”

Support is available for up to nine months, and can include advice on coping strategies, workplace adjustments, employer engagement and return-to-work plans. It is open to anyone in employment or on an apprenticeship.
