Remploy takes mental health training programme online
Remploy, the UK’s leading disability employment specialist, has redeveloped its suite of mental health learning programmes to deliver training remotely for the first time.
The three online learning programmes aim to promote and support workplace mental health, comprising Mental Wellbeing in the Workplace, Personal Resilience and Mental Health First Aid. The courses offer training for directors, team leaders and individual employees, and have attracted delegates from sectors including logistics, retail, and education.
Initial client feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with attendees reporting a marked increase in their knowledge and confidence regarding mental health after completing their courses.
The World Health Organisation and leading business organisations have warned of the significant mental health impact of the Covid-19 crisis and have encouraged employers to ensure they are prepared to provide support.
Rob Small, National Disability Training & Consultancy Manager at Remploy, said: “While much has been placed on hold during the Covid-19 crisis, Remploy’s new online learning suite has enabled employers to continue investing in their staff and equipping them with skills to improve mental wellbeing in their workplace. Currently, more than 40% of workers are anxious about returning to the workplace following the outbreak. Building knowledge and understanding around mental health in your business has never been more important.
Companies are looking to effect cultural change in their organisations and are acknowledging that mental health is as important as physical health. The online courses aim to help businesses reduce stigma and increase awareness in an engaging learning format, providing insights and tools which are immediately useful for businesses”.
