Remploy's whole ethos is about social sustainability with a keen emphasis on sustainable procurement to help minimise environmental damage.  The business is complying with ISO14001 and has embarked on a programme of continuous reduction of its carbon footprint.

What is sustainable development?

According to the new shared framework set up by the UK Government and other devolved administrations, sustainable development should: "...enable all people throughout the world to satisfy their basic needs and enjoy a better quality of life, without compromising the quality of life of future generations..."

What is sustainable procurement?

Sustainable procurement allows organisations to meet their needs for goods, services, works and utilities in a way that achieves value for money by generating benefits not only to the organisation but also to society and the economy, whilst minimising damage to the environment.
