YMCA Training and Remploy announce partnership to give disabled people a better deal

9th March 2007

Two leading organisations in the employment services sector, YMCA Training and Remploy, have announced a partnership agreement. The move demonstrates their commitment to working together to develop the quality of employment services for people with learning difficulties and disabilities.

As a key provider of training programmes that assist people back to work, YMCA Training’s role complements Remploy’s position as the leading provider of jobs for disabled people. Their newly formed alliance will place both organisations in a strong position to enable the delivery of programmes that most effectively meet the needs of disabled job seekers.

Their partnership agreement involves:
• Regular communication between the organisations
• Information sharing about strategic planning processes
• Joint working and tendering for external funding as appropriate
• Sharing of best practice
• Positively promoting each other’s services

This partnership agreement is underpinned by good communication, close working relationships, networking, respect and trust.

YMCA Training’s Chief Executive Anne Linsey said “We are delighted to be entering into this partnership with Remploy, as by working together and drawing on the strengths of each organisation, we can improve the quality of service available to disabled people looking for employment.”

Jill Hill, Corporate Development Director of Remploy commented “We are very excited about working closer with YMCA Training. Their expertise of providing vocational skills means that we can work more closely with employers to provide them with disabled people who are suitably trained for their vacancies.”
