Remploy throws open its doors in Birmingham to let disabled job-seekers meet would-be employers

12th October 2007

Disabled job-seekers will have the chance to impress prospective employers and find work during two job fairs to be held at the Birmingham branch of Remploy.

Remploy, the country’s leading provider of employment services for disabled people, is to host the first of the special events at the branch at 98 Newhall Street on October 24.

The jobs fair will be aimed at disabled people seeking work in the retail industry and employers due to be represented in the branch on the day include Asda and Tesco.

Remploy in Birmingham also has on its books vacancies with other giants such as B&Q, Wilkinson, Morrisons and Sainsbury.

The second event is to be held on November 1 when administration and contact centre work will take centre stage.

Employers due to be represented include the University of Central England, National Grid, Cable & Wireless, Building Health and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Branch manager Paul Collum said: “Both events are excellent opportunities for disabled job-seekers to get on the road to work by chatting to employers and showing them just what they have to offer.”

A wide range of other services are also on offer to disabled people at all of Remploy’s branches across the country, such as help with compiling a CV, preparing for interviews, interview techniques, searching for jobs and confidence building and team working sessions.

Both events are open to all available disabled job-seekers and further information can be obtained by telephoning 0845 155 2557.
