There are thousands of admin roles available in the UK, and they range across all industries and sectors such as health, manufacturing, recruitment, local government… in fact, every business needs some form of administration to survive.

So what's involved?
Admin is a hugely varied career path, with jobs including secretarial work, clerical work and customer services admin.
Administrative roles vary greatly, and include:
- Using the telephone and answering incoming calls
- Typing
- Keeping and filing information
- Using computers
- Providing general information
- Sales support
- Reception duties
- Organising meetings
- Keeping diaries
Administrative roles also include updating customer records, processing order forms and data entry.
Where will I work?
Administrative roles are nearly always situated in an office environment, and you may work as part of a larger administrative team, or provide administrative support for an individual.
Working in admin doesn't necessarily involve sitting at a desk all day, there is plenty of opportunity to meet people and offices are often lively and bustling places to work. There may also be plenty of opportunities for promotion to team leader, supervisory and management positions.
