Robin finds job fulfilment after years of illness.

Robin French from Bridgend believed that he would never work again when a debilitating disease forced him to leave his job as the manager of an insurance company.

In 2000, frustrated at not being able to work, Robin went back to university where he completed a degree in Social Welfare and Law. After graduating he started to look for work, but his confidence was at an all time low - then he came into contact with Remploy at a local jobs fair.

Robin explains, "The only job I ever had to apply for was my first, so when I came to look for work after such a long period of illness, I really didn't know where to start - and that's where Remploy really helped."

Remploy worked with Robin to rebuild his confidence, improve his CV and coached him on interview techniques. Robin now works for the Parish of Coity with Nolton as Parish administrator and business manager.

He continued, "This job isn't just about having money in the bank. Having this work gives me fulfilment. After being unemployed for so long I was discouraged, but having a job where I can use my degree every day is great. My job can be hard work but this is a vital part of the process of getting my life back on track."
