"I now have a sense of purpose, and that's more than money can buy."

Though he's only been working with Xerox for a few weeks, 23 year old Paul Rogers is already proving his worth! He knows this because his employer has presented him with a Xerox Achievement Award, reserved for those colleagues that make a real difference to the company each month.

Paul is partially deaf and has other sensory perception disabilities and is one of several colleagues that Remploy has placed with document management specialists Xerox. From its Leeds office, Xerox is heading up an association of leading businesses formed to provide print documents to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and Remploy is the partner contracted to provide staff and other services to the group.

Determined to find a job, Paul called in to Remploy's specialist recruitment branch in Leeds to see what services were on offer. Remploy devised a bespoke package of help for Paul, including how to write an effective CV and coaching in interview techniques, before managers at Xerox interviewed him for an office assistant position. Such was the impression he made, Paul was appointed the day after his interview, and he's now the first person that visitors to Xerox meet when they call in.

"Working here combines all the best bits of other jobs I have had - it really is that good!" said Paul. "It's important for me to have a job, not least because I can now pay my bills. However, it also means I have a sense of purpose, and that's more than money can buy."
