Paul
Back in work after 14 years out.
Paul Moore, who is 50 and from Leicester, regained his self-confidence and found work again thanks to help and support from Remploy.
Paul was referred to Remploy's branch in Leicester by the Jobcentre and he completed a two-week vocational development programme in which he was given help with confidence building, applying for jobs, and interview techniques.
He has since landed a job as a facilities administrator with RR Donnelly Global Document Solutions in Saffron Road, Leicester, where he is responsible for the smooth running of the site.
Paul was made redundant in 1993 and had a number of family problems when the nail bomb attack in Soho left him with burns and shrapnel wounds.
He said: "I became reclusive, I stopped talking to my friends and family, I wouldn't answer the phone and I had anxiety and depression. It became a vicious circle as the longer I was out of a job the worse I felt and the less capable I thought I was of getting back into work."
Paul's fortunes changed when he moved back from London to be near his family in Leicester where he underwent psychotherapy and received help from Victim Support.
RR Donnelly spokeswoman Kathy Ainslow said: "After interviewing Paul, both myself and Paul's manager, Neale Woolfall, were 100 per cent confident that we had the right person for the role. I am pleased to say that Paul is doing very well and has brought structure to a very busy department."
