Learning
Our Learning service aims to help disabled people make the transition from education into meaningful paid employment by improving the links between learners with learning difficulties/disabilities (LLDD), education and training providers and employers.
Disabled people with no formal qualifications are three times more likely to be unemployed than unqualified, non disabled people. Across the UK there are currently over a million disabled adults currently taking part in education and training. Despite these numbers, however, the needs of many are not being met and individuals find themselves drifting from course to course with no strategy, plan or goal, meaning there is no clear or planned progression routes into work This is despite the overwhelming majority of these learners stating they wish to achieve paid employment after completing their courses.
Remploy's learning service aims to tackle this issue by bringing together the needs of learners, learning providers and employers to facilitate the delivery of learning that leads to employment. In addition to helping disabled people reach their potential through employment, these services will help to strengthen the UK economy and address future skills shortages.
