NHS North West – IPS project
Improving the health and wellbeing of people experiencing mental health conditions
Remploy is working in partnership with NHS North West in St Helens to deliver an innovative pilot project called Individual Placement Support (IPS).
With the project having already been trialled elsewhere by Remploy, with very positive outcomes, both organisations are confident that the pilot will achieve some fantastic results.
By addressing unemployment, the aim of IPS is to deliver an effective intervention to social inclusion by improving health, reducing isolation and addressing the employment needs of adults with a mental health condition in the area.
The project is designed to support NHS North West to achieve its objective of becoming an exemplar employer of socially excluded adults by increasing the amount of disadvantaged people in their workforce.
Remploy will provide the following support to suitable candidates:
- Vocational skills assessment
- Job matching to abilities and interests
- Skills development
- Support with CV writing, interview techniques and job applications
- Advice on disclosing a mental health condition to employers
- Ongoing support for the employee and employer once in work, to ensure employment can be sustained.
