Remploy supports injured service men and women

modCollaboration between Remploy and Career Transition Partnership (CTP), a Ministry of Defence backed support organisation, is helping sick and wounded service personnel make the difficult transition into civilian life.

More than 40 Remploy Employment Advisors, acting as ‘Armed Forces Champions’, have received specialist training, including Military Mental health training.

Vicky Watts, Remploy’s Lancashire City manager and one of the ‘Champions’, recently went through the training. She said: “It was excellent, one of the best training sessions I have attended.”

modTeresa Beadle, Remploy’s Lead Armed Forces Advisor, said: “We provide  tailored services for men and women leaving the Services including training and skills development, confidential one-to-one advice, access to the latest job vacancies and ongoing support when a candidate is in work."

Remploy was established to support injured Service personnel returning from the Second World War, so in many ways this is a move back to our roots.”

Remploy also has a team of Vocational Rehabilitation Consultants supporting the Army Recovery Capability, a scheme to help sick and wounded Service men and women back to duty or into supported civilian employment.
