Q1. Why enter the Leading the Way Awards?
Over the past 10 years, the Leading the Way Awards have recognised many employers and individuals for their contributions to the removal of barriers and improved inclusion of disabled people in the workplace.
Winners of the Leading the Way Awards benefit from:
- Externally verified recognition of their equal opportunities policies
- A positive image of their organisations to existing and future customers
- Opportunity for your organisation to be featured in the Times coverage of the awards
- An incentive for the best people to apply for jobs and a positive internal impact on employee morale
- Extensive publicity at local, regional and national level
- A networking opportunity with like-minded individuals and businesses
- Recognition that they are meeting Government targets, legal requirements and social obligations
The awards are a positive education process - for the employers taking part, for the general public, for disabled people, for the media and the business community as a whole - about the opportunities and business benefits that a diverse workforce can bring to UK organisations.
back to topQ2. Who can enter the awards?
The Leading the Way Awards are open to all organisations employing or enabling disabled people to secure employment in England, Scotland and Wales. There are also individual awards presented for significant contribution.
To enter the awards your organisation must employ disabled people. The numbers of disabled people employed within an organisation will not be used as criteria.
