Birmingham Mind has been designing and delivering innovative community based services for over 50 years, Our Mission Statement is “promoting and providing high quality support for those experiencing mental distress” and Our Vision and Values are:• Supporting Recovery and Wellbeing • For people to be in control of their lives• Respect for the individual• Reputation for excelling in quality Our current service delivery includes:Housing / Floating Support Services:• 1 Specialist Complex Needs Care Service• 1 Forensic Mental Health Step Down Care Service • 2 Residential Care Units• 124 units of accommodation with support • 525 units of floating support The Wellbeing Hub (s) • Primary Care Wellbeing Hub - comprises of a telephone triage/ assessment line, signposting / navigation services, provision of a range of therapeutic courses (as well as one to one Wellbeing Worker sessions and information, and advice.• Edgbaston Hub – we provide the Esteem Team Community Development Worker Service: works with communities across Birmingham to promote discussion around mental health / wellbeing through various training, workshops and activity sessions with specific community cohorts e.g. Women’s / Men’s Health, Newly Arrived Communities, Families, Criminal Justice, LGBT /African Caribbean Community.Every Step of the Way as part of a wider programme Changing Futures Together (Big Lottery). The service’s main focus in on service user engagement and trainingLead Worker and Peer Mentor Service as part of a wider programme Changing Futures Together delivered in partnership with Shelter and Sifa-Fireside. The service works with people with complex needs and as part of delivery is linking people into training, education, and employment (where appropriate)Recovery Navigators: redesign / re-provision through a new delivery model of non-acute in-patient care including a new environment and delivering clinical and social recovery pathways for people with enduring and complex mental health issuesTraining Department: delivers both commissioned provision (Birmingham City Council, Sandwell Council Public Health) and commercial courses including: mental health awareness, mental health first aid (plus youth and lite), Asist and Safe – Talk, Self-Harm AwarenessResilience Programmes – include delivery to people with long term condition and employees in blue light services and a commissioned programme for informal carers.Recovery Service – provides a range of community based activities and groups for people with enduring mental health issues. Starting Here Starting Now - Flexible Support Grant programme aimed at individuals to overcome barriers to employment, build confidence and esteem, educate and give insight into mental health conditions and equip individuals with coping strategies’ in order for them to manage and maintain positive mental health and wellbeing.Volunteers Programme - The organisation has a volunteer programme through which it recruits to specific roles and functions, these include administration, facilitating group work and courses, and or co-deliverers in our training programmes. We also have corporate volunteering programme.Help Through Crisis (Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust) and Help Through Crisis (Forward Thinking Birmingham) -: to support people due to leave in-patient care an in-reach basis to ensure people’s housing and move on needs are in place, the service also provide support during that transitional phase back to the community.
