Description of Services Chapter 3 is a team of three motivated and highly skilled mature individuals with a passion for what we do. We have a wide range of skills and experience and have worked with mature economically inactive individuals for over four years with a wealth of experience in mature enterprise. We strive to deliver excellence, integrity and positive outcomes for clients, our partners and all those we work with. We work with a number of skilled and trusted associates who have a track record of delivery with the 50+ age group, alongside committed, enthusiastic volunteers. At Chapter 3 we recognise that there are many barriers preventing the economically inactive 50+ population from achieving productive and fulfilling lives. Our experience, supported by a number of recent reports (the Missing Million, Fuller Working Lives, The over 50s, the new work generation and A new vision for older workers), shows that there are a number of factors in play that are preventing older people from re-engaging in remunerative activity. Being your own boss. What is it all about? There are a number of benefits of running your own business from greater choice, control, freedom, security and flexibility in working hours and locations. This is a full day workshop for those that would like to know more about and explore self -employment. Starting up Basics Four stand-alone sessions delivered over two days, aimed at helping mature individuals who would like to take the next steps to self –employment, would like to meet like-minded people, test ideas and brush up their business planning skills Participants will also get to hear entrepreneurial stories, listen to a local volunteer business person who will share their challenges and experiences and answer questions. Alongside having the opportunities to informally network and test their business idea further. On completion of the course participants will understand all the steps necessary to start their own business. They will also be given their own copy of the award winning Essential Business Guide.
