Description of Services CAP offer a free home visiting Debt Counselling service, Budgeting courses, Job Clubs and Release Groups. We work with people on benefits and low incomes and our clients are usually vulnerable. We work with all people regardless of age, gender, faith or background. Our debt help service offers support to people to get them debt free, we offer three initial home visits and our service is not time limited, we ask clients to work with us and we will support them to debt freedom. We look at all the usual ways to get people debt free including repayment and insolvency options. We have nearly 300 debt centres in the UK. We offer Budgeting courses called CAP Money courses; they usually run over three sessions of 2 hours long each and they teach people to budget. We have 850 churches partnering with us to offer this service in their communities. CAP Job Clubs – Offer an eight week course, including sessions on self esteem, confidence building as well as CV writing and interview skills, this is combined with community session where job seekers can meet together and share experience with a tea, coffee and sometimes food. Alongside this we offer one to one coaching from the Job Club Manager. The current average time our Job Club members have been out of work is 3 years and 2 months. We have over 145 CAP Job Clubs currently and this number is set to increase. CAP Release Groups – Offer an eight week course for those struggling with life controlling habits, community sessions and one to one coaching with the Release Group Manager, this is a supportive environment to help people to get freedom from things that are controlling them. This is our newest service and is just leaving it’s pilot phase we have 32 CAP Release Groups currently but this number will increase.

Waiting times The maximum wait for a home visit for debt counselling is 3 months, but we will make contact with the client during this time and in most cases offer them to drop in at a local CAP Centre. Other services for budgeting and Job Clubs and Release Groups are courses and will run at certain times during the year.
