More than 250 people into work in Cardiff

Remploy, the UK's leading provider of employment services to people with complex barriers to employment, found jobs for 252 people with disabilities and health conditions in Cardiff last year. The impressive figure was achieved against the backdrop of the worst recession in more than 70 years.

Bethan Jones, Remploy's Regional Director for Wales and South West England, said: "These
figures have been achieved in a very difficult economic climate and a contracting labour market.
They are a testament to our expertise in supporting those furthest from the labour market into
sustainable jobs."

More than 75% of the people supported into a job by Remploy have been out of work for more
than a year and nationally the company found 10,500 jobs in the last 12 months - an increase of
31% on the previous year.

Natalie Llewellyn, manager of Remploy's Cardiff recruitment branch in Golate Street said: "Our
strong relationships with employer partners such as Sainsbury's and Tesco are crucial to our
continuing success in Cardiff and we work closely with them to make sure we find the right
person for the right job.

"Behind these impressive figures lies an even more important story - our ability to help people to
transform their lives through the social and financial benefits which a job brings.

"We are here in Cardiff to offer our range of expert services to those with disabilities or complex
barriers to work. These barriers can take many forms so we encourage people to drop into our
local branch to see if we can help them or a family member get back to work."
