Remploy, the UK's leading provider of employment services to people with complex barriers to employment, found 38% more jobs for people with disabilities and health conditions in Nottinghamshire last year.
This substantial increase on the previous 12 months was achieved when the economy was in
recession.
Jackie Moody-McNamara, Remploy's Regional Director for the East Midlands, said: "These
remarkable figures have been achieved in a very difficult economic climate and a contracting
labour market. They are a testament to our expertise in supporting those furthest from the labour
market into sustainable jobs."
More than 75% of the people supported into a job by Remploy have been out of work for more
than a year and nationally the company found 10,500 jobs in the last 12 months - an increase of
31% on the previous year.
