Xerox and Remploy achieve diversity

"Remploy understands the kind of people we want to employ..."

With multiple blue chip contracts to manage, Xerox recognises that diversity in the workforce is fundamental to its success. Having embraced a partnership with Remploy in other parts of its company, Xerox continues to reap the rewards of diversity by employing Remploy's candidates across its broader business.

Kate Newman, head of resourcing for Xerox, is a firm supporter of Remploy and of the specialist recruitment services it provides. "Xerox is strongly committed to the principles of equal opportunities in the workplace," she said. "Remploy understands this and is aware of the kind of people we want to employ. They share our vision and as a result our workforce represents the communities of which we are a part."

Remploy provides a range of specialist services to employers. These centre on a true understanding of a client's requirements and recruitment process and ensuring candidates are well prepared for the role they're applying for. Vocational training programmes often dispense with the need for time-consuming employee induction programmes. Alongside this, Remploy also has access to funding for workplace adaptations where required, and can offer expert advice on disability issues in the workplace.

"Experience tells us that the most diverse companies are the most successful over time," added Kate. "Remploy helps us achieve this key business objective, and the result is that everyone benefits."
