Jobs success at TC Contractors
"Remploy understands our needs and requirements, which makes life a lot easier"
The partnership between Remploy and TC Contractors was piloted in Swansea last year and since then it has gone from strength to strength, and is now being rolled out across south Wales.
The companies worked together to develop a training and job-placement initiative for Tesco Extra in Fforestfach, Swansea. Two years on, forty disabled people in Wales have gone into mainstream employment with their support.
TC Contractors is a national cleaning organisation with more than 40 years experience in the industry, and counts Tesco and Budgens amongst its major clients.
Remploy's services were recommended to Grant Freeman, TC Contractors' local area manager. He was so impressed by the services that Remploy provided that he now approaches the company for most of his employment requirements.
He said: "The biggest benefit to us is that we can sit down and explain exactly what our requirements are and the people that would suit the available positions.
"Remploy promotes the fact that we do a lot more than just cleaning, and that we can offer a range of opportunities to employees. Two former Remploy candidates are starting NVQs with us this year, and another was promoted to a supervisor role after a short time of being with us."
He added: "Remploy understands our needs and requirements, which makes life a lot easier. The main and most important difference with jobseekers from Remploy is that they are really prepared for the roles and want to be employed."
