Diversity and equality
Commitment to Equality
Remploy is committed to promoting equality and diversity and translating this into all aspects of our everyday work. This is not a "nice to have" but of critical importance in running a progressive, successful business.
We recognise that a diverse workforce coming from all sections of the community, offering differing skills, experiences, backgrounds and cultures will result in an organisation that is better able to respond to the needs of our customers and service users.
We also recognise that many people experience different barriers to employment and, as a major public sector employer of disabled people providing employment related support to disabled people and employers; we have a responsibility to address these barriers.
Diversity, as a result is a major opportunity for us. Managing diversity for Remploy is not just about legislative requirements; it is about our moral and ethical responsibilities.
Diversity for our organisation is more than acknowledging and accepting differences between groups. It is about including all service users and employees, not just those covered by legislation, and valuing their individual contributions.
Equality of opportunity and the management of diversity is a mainstream feature of our organisation, as both a service provider and employer. All Remploy staff are receiving a high level of knowledge and skills related to equality and diversity issues in general as well as any other bespoke training to those who have a defined responsibility.
